If you have a business problem you need to fix it and you need to fix it fast. The longer you take, the more damaging it will be and the harder it becomes to fix it. Business problems don’t fix themselves and rarely do they go away.
The usual way problems get fixed is that they get passed up the line until they reach someone who has the knowledge and experience to know what needs to be done. This works fine for finding the solution to simple problems or problems that have been encountered before but what about new, more complex problems?
The larger the problem, the more elements it will have, the more people it will affect and the more damaging it will be. The solution will also involve more people to change what they are doing to fix it. And it’s less likely that one person alone will know how to solve it.
But different parts of the solution will be known in different parts of the organisation by different people. The problem is, you are unlikely to know who they are and they are unlikely to realise that what they know is part of the solution.
What you need is a catalyst. Something that causes these inert parts of the solution to react together and speeds up the reaction time.
Wiki-Labs are just that - a catalyst. Here’s how it works.
You have an important problem that needs fixing fast. Here’s what we do.
- We break down the problem into simple questions that everyone can understand.
- We identify the group of people who can contribute to the answer.
- We build you an on-line environment (our Wiki-Lab) where everyone can work together 24/7.
- We use our ‘engagement model’ to involve everyone in the process and make sure they understand what their role is and how to deliver it.
- We bring in outside experts (our Wiki-Talent) to add diversity and depth of knowledge.
- We set a deadline to solve the problem.
- We facilitate the whole process.
- We report back the findings.
The whole process is fast – very fast. Depending on the complexity of the problem your Wiki-Lab will be open for between 7-21 days, after which we will have brought together all the component parts of solving the problem.
What’s more we even have a process (our Action-Lab) which turns the solution into the actions required to solve the problem.
So if you have a problem that needs fixing fast - let us be your catalyst - just get in contact.
